Meet Brittany Schnurr, LMFT
It’s time to start reconnecting with the real you.
Therapy for women in Ashburn and online across Virginia and Connecticut.
For anxiety, self-doubt and relationships.
On Paper, Your Life Looks Good.
But inside, it doesn’t feel the way you thought it would.
And you’re ready for something new.
Many of the women I work with are already very self-aware. They’ve spent years reflecting, reading, and trying to understand themselves - yet still find themselves stuck in the same loops. They often appear confident and successful in many areas of their lives—but underneath that strength, they may feel exhausted from constantly questioning themselves, worrying about how others perceive them, or losing themselves in relationships.
If you’re here, chances are you’ve already done a lot of work on your own. You’ve read the self-help books, listened to the podcasts, asked questions to ChatGPT and spent time reflecting on your relationships and patterns. You may notice yourself stuck in familiar patterns—overthinking conversations, doubting yourself in relationships, or feeling pulled to take care of everyone else’s needs while ignoring your own (or pretending you don’t have any).
You may be experiencing:
overthinking and second-guessing yourself
people-pleasing in relationships
self-doubt and anxious thoughts
repeating unhealthy relationship patterns
feeling your anxiety spike when you finally find a healthy relationship
At some point, though, many reach a place where they realize:
Understanding something isn’t always the same as being able to change it.
The truth is, simply noticing what you’re repeating doesn’t always shift the deeper patterns we carry in relationships.
Therapy with me is a space where you can slow down and be honest about what you’re carrying. You’re allowed to feel what you need to feel. Your story will be met with warmth, curiosity, and compassion. You are not ridiculous or “too sensitive” for feeling the way you do.
Together, we’ll slow down the racing thoughts, calm the body, and begin shifting self-doubt with more helpful and realistic ways of thinking. Tuning into what’s happening in the body helps us break these patterns and understand your underlying needs and fears.
In our work together, we move beyond simply talking about problems. We will take a close look at the deep emotional patterns, beliefs, and relationship dynamics that developed over time. We then disrupt the critical inner voice and find new ways to show up in your relationships. I offer specific tools to help you build awareness and respond differently in the moment. This kind of work takes honesty, curiosity, and courage. But it also opens the door to lasting change.
Each person I work with is unique, so our work will be tailored to what you need most.
You’ll have space to process your experiences while also learning practical ways to soothe your nervous system and develop confidence and trust in yourself and your relationships.
A Therapy Space Where You Can Be Fully Yourself
It’s important that you feel safe, supported, and accepted in our sessions. From that place of safety, meaningful and lasting change becomes possible.
As our work unfolds, many clients begin to:
develop deeper self-compassion
set clearer boundaries in relationships
feel more grounded and less overwhelmed in their day-to-day life
trust their own voice and instincts
communicate more confidently
Reaching out to a therapist isn’t about not being capable.
Often, it’s about recognizing that meaningful change happens more easily
when you don’t have to navigate it alone.
As a therapist, entrepreneur, and someone who has long held herself to high standards, I understand what it’s like to appear capable on the outside while privately feeling stuck in overthinking, self-doubt, or indecision.
Over the last 14 years as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I’ve developed the skills to look beyond surface-level symptoms and understand how your relationships, past experiences, and environment have shaped the way you understand yourself and connect with others.
This means we won’t just focus on what’s happening—we’ll look at why these patterns developed, and what’s keeping them in place.
I’m especially attuned to how these patterns show up in relationships—where self-doubt, people-pleasing, and anxious thinking often feel the most intense.
Because of this, I’m able to help you not only understand these patterns, but begin to shift them in a way that feels grounded, clear, and sustainable. So you can live a life that is authentically yours - and feel great about it.
Clients often tell me that I help them put words to experiences they’ve carried for years—but haven’t fully been able to make sense of. They describe me as someone who can see the bigger picture while also paying close attention to the details, offering perspective and context in a way that helps things start to click.
I’m someone who will sit with you in the hard moments, but also gently support you in moving forward. Many clients describe our work as both grounding and encouraging—having space to be honest, while also feeling supported to grow. I bring a calm, nonjudgmental presence to our sessions. I believe that people are doing the best they can with what they’ve learned and experienced—and that real change is possible, whether it happens gradually or in meaningful shifts over time.
I’m also intentional in how I work. I naturally notice patterns and connections, so I can offer targeted feedback when it’s helpful, and support you in making sense of both your past experiences and how they’re showing up in your life now. Over time, this creates a space where you can begin to feel more clear, more confident, and more connected to yourself.
